Diamonds are often associated with ostentation. Many wear them to attract attention, to show off. At Manipura, we reject this display. To us, this stone should not merely shine: it should illuminate. Yes. Its essence is not brilliance, but the quiet strength it embodies. This precious light deserves to be preserved. It needs care... maintenance that is just, measured, but above all, regular.
To extend the life of your jewelry, it is not just the sparkle you must maintain. It is, above all, the relationship. Here is how to make it last.
A diamond’s beauty does not fade: it is veiled!

In the common mind, a diamond is eternal. Many think that you just have to place it on a ring, a necklace, or a bracelet... and it will remain perfect, intact. But eternity, even for such a pure stone, requires a minimum of care. Through contact with skin, creams, makeup, or even air laden with micro-particles... the stone becomes covered in an imperceptible veil. Invisible to the naked eye, yet very real. This veil ultimately acts as a filter: it softens the light, blurs the brilliance, and stifles the clarity. The jewelry seems duller, without the stone itself having changed. In a Manipura piece, where every natural diamond is selected for its purity and inner light, this filter becomes a loss. Maintaining a diamond is not about making it shine at all costs. It is about preserving the intention that brought it into being. It is about making the bond between the stone, the craftsman who set it, and the person who wears it endure.
Caring for your jewelry to preserve it, without ever forcing...
Ultimately, a diamond asks for little. But that little requires precision, calm, and patience. When cleaning it, there is no need to aim for high performance. It is not the immediate sparkle that counts, but the light rediscovered.
Begin by filling a small container with lukewarm water (never hot) with a few drops of mild soap, free of perfume or abrasive agents. Let your jewelry rest there. Immerse it slowly. About twenty minutes will be enough to dissolve daily impurities.
Using an ultra-soft bristle brush, clean gently around the stone. Without pressing. Without overdoing it. It is these light movements that will release the light. Focus on the areas the eye forgets: under the setting, between the prongs, where cream, makeup, or dust accumulate.
Rinse with clear water, then dry with a clean, dry microfiber cloth. Avoid cotton or towels. Nothing that could scratch or deposit new particles.
This gesture is more than just cleaning. It is an act of attention. A silent dialogue between you and what you wear.
Diamond jewelry is not indestructible!

In a well-designed diamond ring, every millimeter counts. The height of the setting. The angle of the stone. The balance between material and light. This precision, however mastered, remains vulnerable to daily wear. Diamond jewelry does not break easily. Nor does it cry out when neglected. It endures. In silence. Until the moment the metal gives way, the stone loosens, or the brilliance dulls.
What does a diamond not tolerate? Abrasive cleaners, such as toothpaste or baking soda, which scratch rather than clean. Chemical baths: chlorine, bleach, or swimming pool water, which attack even 18-karat gold. It is the repeated friction, inside a bag or against a hard surface, that leaves invisible but lasting marks. Then, there are the frequent oversights: a ring left on the edge of a sink, a necklace worn in the shower, jewelry kept on while sleeping. None of these actions are dramatic in themselves. But their accumulation, day after day, eventually weakens what you thought was immutable. Within our studio, every creation is designed to defy time. But lasting does not mean resisting everything. It means enduring on the condition that it is treated with the same high standards that guided its creation.
Our 18-karat gold and diamond pieces do not expect spectacular rituals. They simply ask not to be forgotten. Or treated lightly.
This gesture must be performed with great delicacy, yet it carries meaning. It extends what the Manipura house began. It extends your bond with the piece, with the material, and with what it represents to you. For well-maintained diamond jewelry does not seek to last forever. It seeks to remain faithful. And if you are ever in doubt about a gesture or a method, our house remains by your side. To advise you, with the same quiet exacting nature that shapes our creations.
It is in that silence, between light and restraint, that the true beauty of a Manipura piece resides.
